It's a Flash Mob...and You're Invited!

Thursday, Aug 12 at 12pm Citi Performing Arts Center interns will be organizing a Flash Mob Dance. We are doing a flash mob dance in front of Copley Library. For those who don't know here is a definition of a flash mob dance:

The concept is fairly simple - you secretly gather a group of people, choreograph a routine, and pick a public place, at a specific time. All dancers are dressed to blend into the crowd, as otherwise "ordinary" people. When the music starts, a single dancer or two emerges from the crowd and randomly starts to dance. The idea is that as the dance/song goes on, more and more dancers suddenly join in, culminating in an awesome and random performance for any onlookers in the area. At the end, everyone disperses back into the crowd just as quickly as they appeared. Fun right?

Check out this famous flash mob in Belgium.

Now we want as many people possible so please sign up. The rehearsals will be on:

July 16: 2-5pm July 23: 2-5pm July 30: 2-5pm Aug. 11: 12-2pm (Required)

If you can come for every rehearsal you would be learning the full dance and be one of the star performers. For those who cannot come to every rehearsal it would be great if you can come at least from 4 to 5 to one of the July dates so that you can learn a small part. The entire group will rehearse on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010 at 12pm

Flash Mob Day for the performance is on Thursday, Aug 12 at 12pm. (Rain Date Friday, Aug. 13 at 12pm)

The rehearsals will be in the rehearsal studio at the Wang Theatre. Please RSVP by email to let us know that you are coming at eintern@citicenter.org.

Hope to see you there!
