The smell of snow is in the air and here at the Wang Theatre we are gearing up for our winter season and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, coming to our stage for 50 dazzling performances from December 2 – 28. Through this spectacular production, the Radio City Rockettes will dance their way through an awe-inspiring journey with brand new scenes, an array of glamorous new costumes, energetic choral singers, dramatic lighting effects and a 50 foot LED screen to display breathtaking new imagery. Tickets are still available here.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular by the numbers:
In 2010, the Christmas Spectacular was enjoyed by nearly two million people. In its 17-year combined history outside of New York, as well as the production at Radio City Music Hall, the show has played to more than 70 million people.
The Rockettes perform 300 kicks per show. On a four show day, that’s 1200 kicks!
More than 300 colorful costumes and 200 hats are used in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Each outfit is exclusively designed for the show.
In addition to the regular cast members, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular has several members of the animal family who appear throughout the show. “The Living Nativity” features two camels, four sheep and a donkey, who will take up residence at the Wang Theatre for the month of December.
The Rockettes appear in seven different costumes during the show. If they are not seen dancing on stage, you can bet they are changing costumes!
Don’t miss out on this world-renowned holiday show. We hope to see you there!
