Week 2

By Jahkhi Waters

In this week's episode of City Spotlights, we have had a lot of things happen. Starting off with how everyone’s focus and drive was put together to make a beautiful State house performance. Starting with music, creating a group song for everyone to sing for the State house. It was not easy, yet it was also not hard. Everyone had a mutual understanding of what they wanted to present and share within the music specialty.

And everyone was able to share and participate in the making of this song. After finalizing the script and making the group song, they got to rehearse the material that was given. They learned their parts and got ready on Wednesday to voice what they wanted to say and to sing about the kids of the future. And they did great. Even though they messed up on a couple of lines, they killed it.

And it wasn’t like they got stumped or didn’t know their line. They kinda over spoke at times but it’s better to know and come early than to come in late for not knowing. But after killing the state house performance, everyone got to participate in flashmob for the first time!!!!! Everyone was so eager to dance and they had so much fun. I got to see how the teens danced and worked with each other.

Some got it quickly and others didn’t. But those who did know how to dance and got the steps down were able to teach those who didn’t know. Everyday the teens come in with energy to work and enjoy themselves. And I know there are days when the teens are a bit much, but they still put in time to make the most of the program. But yeah, this is my blog for this week and I hope you enjoyed it. 😀
