Week 4

By Lesley Rodriguez

We kicked off this week with an outpour of support from the Boch Center staff and community artists! They volunteered to do mock interviews for our Teen Leaders providing them with career enrichment opportunities. Teen Leaders did an incredible job! I also had the pleasure of leading conversations around social justice with the focus on self-care and wellness as resistance. Teens used art and their community wellness ideas to create their individual self-care plans full of their own resources.

Teens also had the tall order of finishing up scripts for their workshop group, deciding the intersectionality and order of their performances and rehearsing it all together. As leaders, they navigated any hurdles and successes that come with the collaboration of ideas and personalities. They created beautiful and impactful workshops. Their hard work didn’t stop there. Our teens dove right into the workshop tour by Wednesday. Teen Leaders ought to be so proud of the human rights messages and performances shared throughout Boston and their contribution in inspiring change in their communities!
