Week 5

By Wyatt Phillip

This past week, the 2024 City Spotlights teen leaders participated in four days of leading workshops for individuals of different age groups within Boston. Between working with the youth or summer programs to senior citizens, the teens led hour long workshops that included their advocacy projects and arts projects, all revolving around their chosen theme of Human Rights. The teens collaborated in facilitating each part of their workshops, performing their art pieces, and helping their audiences engage in their social justice advocacy. On their commute to each workshop, the teens engaged in Pop-Up performances where they performed not only original pieces, like their Flashmob and Group Song, but also were given the chance to bond over similar arts interests that they were able to perform with each other. Overall, throughout the four days, the teens practiced their collaboration skills and their advocacy work.
