Week 6

Final Showcase!!! The most intense yet one of the most fulfilling and heartwarming times of the program. Seeing the teens putting things together and finalizing their pieces allows me to see how they work under pressure while also seeing how they show up for each other. When they are working on scenes and dances, they need someone else to fill in a spot. The group is ready to show up for each other and help make each other's pieces the best that they can be. That’s something I really value when working with these teens. My favorite part of this experience was before we started the show, having everyone in the circle in unison preparing for something that's anxiety-inducing. It shows and emphasizes the idea that in this program we are truly all in this together!
I will deeply miss this group, being a junior assistant for the first time and seeing these teens grow deeply moved me to continue to be an advocate for the future.
